Only a few kilometres from Maso Corto you can reach Madonna di Senales, the modern village of the valley, where you find the ArcheoParc Museum dedicated to the discovery of the Ice man Ötzi www.archeoparc.it. The main village of the valley named Certosa, with the convent of the ancient Benedictine monastery. Finally, you will reach the village of Monte Santa Caterina, an ideal starting place for excursions, especially to the nearby Val di Fosse Valley in the heart of the Tessa Group Nature Park.
Outside the valley you can visit numerous castles, amongst which Juval Castle, which provides the residence of the famous alpinist Reinhold Messner, Castelbello Castle and Coira Castle in a western direction. In aneastern direction you can visit: Dorf Tirolo Castle and Scenna Castle. Other places worth visiting: Merano thermal baths www.thermemerano.it, the city of Merano with its characteristic arbours, the botanic gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle www.trauttmansdorff.it, and the Museum of Archaeology in Bolzano where you can see the mummy of Ice Man Ötzi www.iceman.it.
Of great touristic and athletic interest is also the cycling path connecting all villages of the Venosta Valley. Here you can organise beautiful cycling excursions in combination with a train journey, ideal for singles and families.
